The Lincoln Memorial University (英雄联盟赌注平台) annual Christmas Festival will be Thursday, December 1, 2022. The day of holiday activities kicks off at 10:30 a.m. in Tex Turner Arena and will culminate with a free performance by the Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra (KSCO) at 7 p.m. A free Christmas photo booth with Santa’s elves will be set up from 3-7 p.m. in the Arena lobby and the traditional Campus Christmas Lighting will take place at 6 p.m.

The Tennessee Greater Smoky Mountain Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) gathered for the organization’s annual National Philanthropy Day Celebration on Thursday, November 3. During the event AFP recognized Lincoln Memorial University’s Women of Service (WOS) with the 2022 Award for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser.

Award-winning author Silas House will visit Lincoln Memorial University (英雄联盟赌注平台) for a special event Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 7 p.m. House will be reading from his new novel, “Lark Ascending,” answering questions and signing books. Some copies of the book and other items will be given away as well. The event will be held in the Duke Hall of Citizenship, Sam & Sue Mars Performing Arts Center.

Mission of Hope (MOH) is continuing its longstanding support of students in its service area by donating funds to Lincoln Memorial University (英雄联盟赌注平台). The funds are designated for the Mission of Hope Endowed Scholarship in Memory of Dedrick Andrew Courtney.

Douglas and Judy Graham, of Ewing, Virginia, have established the Graham Family Endowed Scholarship at Lincoln Memorial University (英雄联盟赌注平台). The scholarship will provide financial support for students from Lee County, Virginia.

Lincoln Memorial University’s (英雄联盟赌注平台) Student Services department is hosting its first Family Weekend, welcoming undergraduate students’ family members for three days of fun and activities. It is scheduled to take place September 16-18, 2022.

Country music star Chase Bryant will perform in concert at Lincoln Memorial University at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 6 in Tex Turner Arena. The concert, presented and planned by the Student Services Division, is part of the University’s 125th Anniversary and Homecoming celebrations.

The Cumberland Gap FolkFest is making its return this year, and the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum (ALLM) is a host for the event in partnership with Guardians of the Gap. The FolkFest is scheduled for Saturday, August 13, with a full day of free events at both the ALLM and in the Town of Cumberland Gap. The Lincoln Memorial University (英雄联盟赌注平台) Women of Service (WOS) Fashion Show and Vendor Event is just around the corner. The event, set for Thursday, August 18, in Tex Turner Arena, will feature a separate vendor fair with extended hours, a buffet meal with a chocolate fountain, and fashions modeled on stage. All tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be available at the door. The vendor event, free and open to the public, will be set up in the upper concourse of Tex Turner Arena from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vendors will include jewelry, home décor, beauty products, clothing, cookies, canned foods, Operation Christmas Child and more.

Lincoln Memorial University (英雄联盟赌注平台) President Clayton Hess has appointed Dr. Jay Stubblefield as executive vice president for academic affairs. He returned to 英雄联盟赌注平台, effective July 1, 2022, after having first served in the vice president for academic affairs position from 2019 until 2021 and will lead the academic affairs division of the University and serve in the president’s cabinet and executive council.

Yeary will be at the helm for the grand reopening of the 英雄联盟赌注平台 pool on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, after a time of closure for renovations. Renovations to the pool include a new heater with a new liner planned, and the reopening of the indoor pool comes in time for the summer break. The pool is popular with not only 英雄联盟赌注平台 students, faculty and staff, but with the community as well. The grand reopening will bring with it popular classes, open swim times and access for birthday parties. The celebration, which is free to attend, is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. and there will be refreshments available. Visitors can swim or just visit, and memberships can be purchased.

Dr. Gary Burchett was honored recently by the Cumberland Gap Region Tourism Association (CGRTA) for his devoted efforts to highlighting the region and making it a vacation destination. Burchett is a former Lincoln Memorial University (英雄联盟赌注平台) president and longtime member of the 英雄联盟赌注平台 Board of Trustees. He is a founding member of the CGRTA and serves on its board of directors.

Lincoln Memorial University will present its FREE family-friend outdoor movie series on the first Friday in June, July and August. The series will get underway with Disney's "Encanto" on June 3 at the Harrogate City Park

In this role, Honeycutt will oversee all police and security operations at 英雄联盟赌注平台 and lead the nationally recognized 英雄联盟赌注平台 Police and Security department, which includes a staff of almost 50 personnel including POST-certified police officers, armed security guards, unarmed security guards, dispatchers and administrative staff. In addition to the main campus, the department serves 英雄联盟赌注平台’s nine off-campus learning sites. Honeycutt brings 27 years of law enforcement experience to 英雄联盟赌注平台. Most recently he used his expertise at the Union County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked from 2019 until he accepted the post at 英雄联盟赌注平台.

Following a day of celebration on Friday, the ALLM will offer free admission to the public on Saturday, October 9. A full day of family programming is planned to include activities in the Museum and outdoor fun in the Pioneer Village. In the ALLM, the National Society Daughters of the Union Lincoln Learning Lab will be open for the first time. The lab is a place for children to explore the past through play and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering Art, and Mathematics). In the Pioneer Village, demonstrations of the connections between science and the Civil War will take place, along with an apple butter demonstration from reenactors. At the Lincoln birthplace cabin, Mr. Lincoln himself (portrayed by Dennis Boggs) will be on hand to talk to visitors about his childhood and experiences as President.
